Description of the HSM 411.2 OMDD High Security L6 Cross Cut Shredder
The 411.2 OMDD Level 6 shredder has all the same high quality, high security features as the 411.2 Level 6 shredder, except instead of shredding paper, the OMDD model shreds optical media. NSA-EPL listed and TAA Compliant, the OMDD 411.2 shreds CDs/DVDs and credit cards into particles roughly 1mm x 3mm to 2.2mm x 4mm. Though the 411.2 OMDD doesn’t take paper, the Anti-Jam Technology remains the same. An overload or jam will be detected and rollers are automatically reversed. The waste bin has sensors that detect a full shred bag and halts shredding automatically. When the full bag is emptied and the cabinet door is closed, the 411.2 OMDD will start shredding again. The OMDD has an integrated collecting bag that is reusable and easily removable.Many of the 411.2 features are the same for the OMDD model. Solid steel cutting rollers are durable enough to withstand optical media just as easily as it does paper, while the cutting cylinder has been specially designed to shred optical media. When a disk is inserted, photocell sensors detect and engage automatic start/stop. The on/off rocker switch has an integrated reverse function and the control keypad has LED lights to indicate shredder status. The specially adjusted motor with thermal protection can be used for long periods without overheating or damaging the shredder. The 411.2 is large and powerful, ideal for high volume shredding. Paper documents are not the only form of sensitive information. Optical media is widely used and also need to be properly disposed of. The wide top surface can additionally be used as a storage space to hold discs when shredding. The 411.2 is available in non-OMDD Level 6 and other security levels, in addition to a strip cut model.
