Place up to 300 sheets of paper in the feeder, and once locked to prevent unauthorized access, go about your other business. Nanogrip technology engages paper intake while the light barrier detects the paper and automatically starts/stop shredding. The powerful motor supports continuous duty operation, and also consumes low power in standby mode to save money and energy. Even paper jams are automatically detected and automatically reversed. If you’ve left a few sheets out of the feeder, you can also manually insert single sheets while the HSM 300 is engaged in auto feeding thanks to the dual function. The only non-automated feature is waste bin removal. The 9 gallon waste bin is easily removable for easy disposal and even has an inspection window so users can see just how much shred waste is in there.
